Description
Tube-to-tube heat exchangers are used for efficient heat transfer between two media. The design of tube-in-tube heat exchangers includes two tubes, one of which, with a smaller diameter, is located coaxially inside the other, with a larger diameter. These heat exchangers are well suited for viscous products and products containing coarse inclusions.
To ensure heat transfer, the medium flows between the shell and the outer wall of the inner tube and the product flows through the inner tube. DTI-series heat exchangers are suitable for the treatment of sludge/digestate containing large particles in suspension. The inner tube has a sufficiently large diameter to avoid possible clogging of the passage.
Medium and product (sludge) move in countercurrent motion. Spiral knurling on the tubes favours increased heat transfer with minimal contamination of the heat exchange surfaces.
