The Optima SC balloon catheter for coronary angioplasty is a dual-lumen catheter with a balloon located near the distal tip. The balloon catheter shaft is a hollow tube with one lumen in the proximal part and two lumen in the distal part of the catheter. The Optima SC Coronary Angioplasty Balloon Catheter is temporarily inserted into a coronary artery to dilate it during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). The Optima SC coronary angioplasty balloon catheter is designed for: - balloon dilatation of stenosed coronary artery or coronary shunt to improve myocardial perfusion; - balloon dilatation of areas of coronary artery occlusion to restore coronary blood flow in patients with acute coronary syndrome.
