Portable Radiation Monitor KSAR.5 "Phantom" for Discreet Detection of Radiation

Wearable radiation monitor KSAR.5 "FANTOM" (hereinafter referred to as "FANTOM") according to TU 226.51.41-1126-23151859 is designed for covert examination of people, vehicles and railway vehicles, movable and immovable objects in order to search and identify nuclear materials (NM) and radioactive substances (RS), as well as to control radioactive contamination of the environment (terrain, premises) with geo-referenced location. Two detection channels are used in the monitor device to control the radiation situation: -Gamma channel based on NaI(Tl) scintillator; -Neutron channel based on 3He counters. The energy range of gamma radiation registration is from 0.06 to 3.0 MeV.

The integral nonlinearity of the gamma channel in the range from 0.05 to 3 MeV is not more than ±1%. The relative energy resolution of the 661 keV 137Cs line is not more than 9 %. The maximum input statistical loading of the gamma channel is not less than 5-104 s-1.
