Description
End seals are installed where the shaft exits the turbine housing. In areas In areas below atmospheric pressure, as in the DDC, the end seals prevent atmospheric air from being drawn into the turbine and condenser to ensure normal operation. DDC end seals are a type of labyrinth seals. DDC end seals have only two chambers: sealing steam supply and suction of steam and atmospheric air mixture.
