The apparatus provides communication via two-wire communication lines in conditions of ambient air temperature from minus 50 °? to plus 50 °? and relative humidity up to 98% at temperature 40 °?.

The apparatus circuitry has protection against lightning discharges near lines and withstands AC voltages up to 900V if the line accidentally touches the power line wires.

TA-57 overlaps 48 dB attenuation, which guarantees reliable communication: over field cable lines P-274 up to 44 km; over overhead lines with wire diameter 3 mm up to 150-250 km.

TA-57 can be used for remote control of the radio station by means of a switch on the microphone handset.
