Traction DC Generator GPT 84/44-8U2 for Locomotive Power Applications

Generator is a component part of shunting diesel locomotives of TEM type. The generator is designed to supply DC traction motors of diesel locomotives and is equipped with a starting winding for short-term use as a starting motor for starting the diesel engine with battery power. The generator is an eight-pole DC electric machine with independent excitation and self-ventilation.

On the main poles of the generator there is a starting winding fed from the battery and used for starting the diesel engine. Protection degree of the generator is IP21 according to IEC 60034-5 in accordance with the requirements of GOST 2582. The generator is made on a single bearing plate with a built-in spherical bearing.
