Vertical Kaplan Hydroturbine PL-20-V-220 for Efficient Energy Generation

PL20-V-220 vertical rotary vane hydro-turbine unit (Kaplan) with nominal power on turbine shaft Nt.nom=3,5 MW at design net head Hp=14,46 m, rotation frequency n=250 rpm. The hydraulic turbine unit is designed to drive a generator with frequency 50 Hz. Turbine control is fully automated.

The design of the working wheel ensures its environmental safety and absence of oil leakage into the environment when the unit is running and stopped. Nominal oil pressure in the servomotors of the guide apparatus is not less than 12.0 MPa. The internal diameter of the stator core allows the turbine cover to be removed, as well as the lower cross of the generator.

Replacement of traditionally used lecal units on the hydraulic turbine. The applied methods of hydro turbine calculation allowed to achieve high power characteristics (efficiency > 94,4%). The applied design of hydro turbines simplifies the performance of work during operation and repair of the hydraulic unit.
