Dual-section Freight Electric Locomotive 2ES10 for Efficient Cargo Transport

Cargo two-section electric locomotive 2ES10 with asynchronous traction motors is designed for driving goods trains on railways of 1520 mm gauge, electrified by direct current, voltage 3kV.

Capable of driving a 9,000 tonne train on flat track sections (up to 6 0/00) and a 6,300 tonne train on mountain sections (up to 10 0/00).

To increase the traction properties of 2ES10 electric freight locomotives, a booster section was developed to drive trains of increased weight on railway sections with a particularly complex track profile.
