Freight Electric Locomotive 3ES6 for Heavy Cargo Transport

Cargo three-section electric locomotive 2ES6 with collector traction drive and contactor-rheostat starting system is designed for driving goods trains on the 1520 mm gauge railways, electrified with direct current voltage of 3 kV.
Due to new design solutions, the technical characteristics of the locomotive have been improved, operating costs have been reduced, reliability and safety of the locomotive have been improved as compared to the previously designed locomotives:
10-15% reduction in power consumption;
reduced repair labour intensity by 15%;
working conditions for locomotive crews are improved;
inter-repair mileage increased by 50 per cent.
