Description

A handheld bipolar instrument that conducts high-frequency electric current in the radio frequency (RF) band to generate cellular heat to cut and coagulate flat tissue in dense organs during open surgical or laparoscopic procedures, such as partial liver or kidney resection. It creates an electrical circuit between the patient and an appropriate electrosurgical generator with RF energy typically in the range of 400 to 500 kilohertz (kHz).
