Description
The KON unit is designed to prevent unauthorised disconnection of the EPC by the key on locomotives and MVPS equipped with the ALSN safety system. The functions of the KON unit are performed by releasing air from the cavity above the EPC breakaway valve and switching on emergency braking when the EPC is switched off by the key for a time period of more than 10 ... 14 s at a speed higher than the controlled speed. 14 s at the speed more than controlled by speed meter or pressure in brake cylinders less than 0,7 kgf/cm2.
