Laboratory gamma unit LGU-12 is designed to: study the effects of ionising irradiation on crops; radiation sterilisation of materials and medical devices
cytogenetic studies; research of the influence of ionising irradiation and assessment of microorganisms radiosensitivity; disinfection of grain, grain products and dried fruits; control of plant diseases; experimental studies of the use of radiation technologies against insect pests; assessment of product quality after irradiation.
Gamma unit consists of the following units:
- upper protection unit;

- lower protection unit;
- airlock;
- platform;
- base;
- cup;
- beaker rotation drive gearmotor;
- gearmotor of the airlock rotation drive;
- source loading channel;
- radiation sources ;
- air inlet duct;
- ventilation and gas extraction channel;
