Buoy self-lighting for lifebuoy type BSSK-12 is designed to indicate the location of the lifebuoy on the water at night. Buoy meets the requirements of the Rules of the Russian Maritime Register (RS), Technical Regulations on the safety of inland waterway transport. Weight - not more than 450 g.

The buoy is resistant to temperatures from -30°? to + 65°?. The buoy light is of white colour and provides light intensity of not less than 2 Cd for not less than 2 hours and has the following lighting characteristics: -time of start of operation from the moment of immersion in sea or fresh water does not exceed 2 min; -time of reaching the working light intensity in sea water not more than 5 min.
