Designed for operation as a shut-off device with remote electric and local manual control of liquid and gaseous media flows in pipelines.

They are used at oil depots and refineries to fulfil safety requirements, provide quick emergency shut-off of pipelines in stationary technological systems with oil and light petroleum products. They are used in metering units, rail and road tanker loading/unloading systems, as well as in oil heating furnaces to cut off the gas supplied to the burners.
