Sodium citrate is an anticoagulant in venous blood and is used for the purpose of coagulation studies.This vacuum tube is designed for the determination of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and contains a trisodium citrate solution with a citrate concentration of 3.2% (0.109 mol/L). The blood to sodium citrate volume ratio is 4:1.The blood volume to be drawn is 2.0 ml.
