Electronic Vehicle Dynamic Stability Control System (ESP®) control unit, hydraulic unit(s) (modulators) - Stability control systems for passenger cars consist of input sensors, an electronic control unit and a hydraulic unit as an actuator, non-military. The control unit of the electronic vehicle dynamic stabilisation system (ESP®), hydraulic unit (modulator) is designed to prevent the vehicle from skidding and sidesliding. During high-speed manoeuvring, the vehicle may skid uncontrollably. In such a skid, the braking pressure automatically increases on the right or left front wheel (depending on the direction of the turn), which is detected by the sensors of the ESP hydraulic unit, as a result of which the ESP control unit sends a signal to the ESP actuator to slow down the outer front wheel.
