Description
The derotation boot, or derotation splint, is an orthopaedic device used to fix and support the foot in ankle injuries or diseases. It consists of two parts: one that is attached to the foot and one that is fixed to the thigh or lower leg.
The main function of a derotation boot is to hold the foot in the correct position and prevent it from shifting. This is particularly important in ankle injuries such as sprains, strains and fractures, where it is necessary to keep the joint immobile.
In addition, derotation orthotics can be used to prevent ankle injuries in athletes and people involved in physical activity. They help to reduce the risk of injury and improve foot function.
