Acti-Fine® vacuum tubes for serum production contain micro-particles of silica (Silica SiO2), applied to the inner walls of the tube and activate the process of blood coagulation. A separation barrier in the form of a gel at the bottom of the tube is used to separate the formed serum from the clot. The use of separating gel tubes is useful to provide a stable barrier between the clot and serum during transport and storage of the sample. The Acti-Fine® serum collection tube is used for immunochemical, biochemical and drug monitoring applications.
